Shakespeare returned to Downtown Hudson for a third consecutive summer, continuing a growing local tradition of community-centered live theater. This year’s production of As You Like It brought comedy, romance, mistaken identities, and memorable characters to a relaxed summer setting.

A Classic Story in a Community Setting

As You Like It follows characters who leave the restrictions of court life and enter the Forest of Arden, where disguises, relationships, and unexpected discoveries reshape their lives. Its outdoor setting and playful story have made it a natural choice for Shakespeare-in-the-park-style performances around the world. Experiencing the story in Hudson gave local audiences an opportunity to enjoy a classic work without traveling far from home.

Arts Belong Downtown

Live theater, music, exhibitions, workshops, and performances all contribute to an active downtown.

Cultural events introduce audiences to different forms of expression while creating reasons to visit nearby restaurants, shops, and public spaces. They also bring performers, volunteers, organizers, and audiences together around a shared experience.

Thank You for Supporting Live Theater

Thank you to the performers, production team, volunteers, organizers, supporters, and audience members who made this year’s performance possible. Three consecutive summers have helped transform the production into a local tradition. We hope to see theater continue to grow as part of Downtown Hudson’s arts and cultural calendar.
