The BID is pleased to sponsor its 6th Annual Downtown Lighting and Decoration Contest for the 2025 holiday season. We hope you will work with your staff to ensure your display stands out to our judges. As a downtown property owner or business within the BID district, you are automatically eligible—no registration is required. Let’s work together to make this year’s downtown holiday displays the best yet!

Contest Details:
All businesses located within the Business Improvement District are automatically entered and eligible to win one of two $200 prizes for the best decorated storefront or business. A panel of volunteer judges will independently evaluate displays between December 17th and December 22nd, considering design (layout and curb appeal), uniqueness (creativity and originality), and overall cheerfulness (how well the display captures the holiday spirit). Judges will then meet to finalize their decisions, and winners will be announced on or before December 24th.

Please note: Last year’s winners are not eligible for this year’s awards. Winners of this year’s contest will be ineligible to win again in 2026 (for that year only) to ensure opportunities for others.

By participating in this contest, you agree to allow the BID to use your name and photographs of your property on its Facebook and Instagram pages, on DiscoverHudson.org, and in media coverage. Winners are determined solely by the judges, and all decisions are final.

Hudson is now in the process of updating the 2014 Master Plan, and two public forums will be held at the Portuguese Club on Wednesday, October 29th from 7PM to 8:30PM and Saturday, November 1st from 10AM to 11:30 AM. These are family-friendly events with kids’ activities and light refreshments.

What is a Master Plan?
The Master Plan is a strategic long-range policy document to help guide development and address and prioritize the Town’s future needs. The Master Plan covers a wide range of issues which impact quality of life, such as neighborhoods, parks, public infrastructure, commercial development, environmental protection and sustainability, historical assets, and much more. This is the Town’s plan, so it’s critical that every voice be heard to understand what the community values and prioritizes.

This mural is being done by local artist and Hudson-based business @elissa.surabian.art, who has recently completed murals and art installations for @workwith.leia inside her office on Main Street, a welcome sign for @freshstartfurniturebank, and a display outside the newly expanded @renewyoumedspama which is located inside @thelandingathudson. You might also recognize Elissa’s work from her Vendor Booths at events like ArtsFest and the farmers markets or may have spotted Elissa‘s Hudson-themed artwork at the shops in our downtown district (she has several postcards, stickers, and more available at @athrudesigns, @islaysterraceshop, and @serendipityhudson).

From May through September, the heart of downtown Hudson came alive with the sounds of summer. Each week, the Town Hall lawn became a gathering place where neighbors, families, and friends came together to enjoy free live concerts from an incredible lineup of bands.

The Summer Music Series has been one of our favorite traditions — offering not just great music, but also a chance to relax under the evening sky, connect with the community, and celebrate all that makes Hudson special.

We’re so grateful to the talented musicians who shared their artistry with us, and to everyone who brought a chair, a blanket, and a love of live music to the lawn. Thank you for making this season such a memorable one!

What an incredible day, Hudson! 🎉

Thank you to EVERYONE who came out today to make Celebrate Hudson 2025 our biggest and best festival yet. From live music and dancing in the streets, to the smell of delicious food trucks, kids laughing on carnival rides, families exploring Touch-a-Truck and Motors on Main, and neighbors connecting with local businesses and vendors: downtown was packed with fun and celebration all day!

This day would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, performers, vendors, and sponsors who work behind the scenes to keep Celebrate Hudson a free, family-friendly event year after year. Your support keeps activities affordable and accessible for all, while showcasing everything that makes Hudson such a special place to live, work, and visit ❤️
